Dentures and bridges are two types of dental prosthetics used to replace missing teeth.

Dentures are removable appliances that can replace some or all of the teeth in either the upper or lower arch of the mouth. They are usually made of acrylic resin or porcelain and are held in place by suction, clips, or adhesives. Dentures can improve the appearance of the smile, help with chewing and speech, and prevent the remaining teeth from shifting out of position.

Bridges, on the other hand, are fixed dental prosthetics that are anchored to the remaining teeth on either side of the gap left by a missing tooth. The bridge itself is made up of one or more artificial teeth (pontics) that are held in place by dental crowns on either side. Bridges can be made of porcelain, metal, or a combination of the two. They are more durable than dentures and can provide a more natural-looking and stable result.

Both dentures and bridges have their advantages and disadvantages, and the choice between the two depends on the individual's specific needs and preferences. A dentist or prosthodontist can help determine which option is best for each patient.
